| Annette Nova |
| Annette first fell in love with the brush in grammar school and continued painting through high school. In 1995 and 1996 she participated in several statewide arts and crafts fairs while she stayed home to raise a family. Three years later, she attended a six, week watercolor basics course at the nearby Somerset Art Association. It was then that she found an undeniable passion for watercolor media determined to learn as much as she could and dedicate herself to the creation of fine art, active participation in the art field and commitment to a career she always dreamed of. Her first attempt to participate in a nation-wide juried competition was very successful. She was awarded First Place out of 3500 entries in the Artist's Magazine 2000 nationwide competition in the novice category. Since then Annette has enjoyed a wide variety of publicity and as an exhibiting artist has earned the respect of her peers. Annette's work is gaining recognition quickly as a result of her promotional efforts and active exhibition schedule. Publications include the New Jersey Countryside, the New Jersey Monthly and Watercolor Magic and Artist Magazine. Her most recent work can be seen at www.anovoa.com. She has also signed a contract with a company in the west coast to publish one of her pieces worldwide. In order to meet the demands of her growing client base, Annette has begun reproducing selected works as giclees. Currently chairperson for the exhibition committee for the Essex Watercolor Club, now celebrating its 71st year as an artist-run organization in New Jersey. Annette also holds the position of Publicity Chairperson for the Garden State Watercolor Society. In the Fall 2003, she began teaching adult classes at the Somerset Art Association, Bedminster, NJ. She is represented by the Mendham Art Gallery, Mendham, New Jersey. Most recently, she was a finalist in the Book Art Press International Competition. A full page of her work will be published in the 2004 issue of New Art International and distributed to curators, galleries, museums and art retailers world wide. What's her motivation? 'I seek to glorify God, creator of heaven and earth and His Son, Jesus Christ using the gifts He has given me.' |
