How is a piece of art able to be hidden?
The piece of art is lowered on a retractable canvas operated by a quiet ventilated motor within the Plasma/LCD stand. Power provided by the Plasma/LCD.
How is the art painted?Under the artist's license, Giclee originals and reproductions are painted on canvas. "Giclee" (a French word pronounced "zhee-clay") describes the method of spraying individual drops (four million!) of special pigment possessing a high degree of elasticity and is then covered with a clear UV coat that protects the canvas. Using the original painting, a highly sensitive scanner and state of the art production provides a perfect recreation of the original piece of art.
Can I use my own original art or photographs?
Yes, using the same process, you may use original art as long as you are not in violation of any copyright or trademark issues. You may also use original photography, such as favorite landscape photograph or family portrait.
How long does it take?
Artwork ordering and preparation usually takes 4-6 weeks. During this time, other elements of the project, including any stands or back-boxes for the TVs are also ordered. The installation is usually a two-day process, which includes any finishing work. Limited edition, signed and numbered pieces may require a longer amount of time.
What sizes televisions can you work with?
Every Designer Plasma piece of art is custom made for your needs. We range in size from 13 inches wide (not diagonal) and the largest image size we have is 46 inches by 20 feet!
Does the size have to match the screen size?
No, it can cover a larger area in any shape that you desire. Many times a TV screen placement in a room does not maximize the artistic and visual opportunity that can make a room look stunning.
Do I need a separate remote to use my Designer Plasma?
No. Your standard remote is fine.
How much space is required for installation?Typically, for a recessed mount, a 5-1/4" depth is needed for your Plasma/LCD, and the artwork will be mounted flush on the wall. If the Plasma/LCD is surface-mounted on the wall, your artwork will be installed a fraction (1/16) of an inch in front of the Plasma/LCD frame and overlap the frame by approximately 1/4" all the way around. Basically, the artwork will be the same distance from the wall as is your Plasma/LCD, plus the depth of the frame, approximately 1" to 1-1/4". Mounting brackets are concealed with a 1/16" grid to match the frame.
Will I need to hire contractors for the installation, electronic audio visual and cosmetic repair to install Designer Plasma?
No. Designer Plasma has trained Technicians to complete the installation for you. Our knowledge includes design, construction and audio visual skill sets.
Is there a warranty?
There is a one year warranty on parts and labor.
How much does it cost?
Designer Plasma offers direct-to-the-trade pricing to interior designers, architects and builders. The cost is determined by three variables:
The size and style of the frame
The custom artwork selected
The preferred installation method
Generally, you can expect the project to cost between $3,500 and $6,000 before your mark-up. We can give you an exact quote once you give us the size, frame, artwork and installation you desire. A large portion of the amount is for the licensing fee to the artist and the actual set-up of the "Giclee" process of spraying four million individual drops of paint on the canvas to create the perfect recreation of the original piece of art.
What is the W.A.F. on this product?
The Wife Acceptance Factor on Designer Plasma is 110% in favor!
